I had been using some the more inexpensive Olay products but decided I might need something more powerful after noticing some changes in my 50+ years old skin. I noticed it was getting dry in spots and fine lines were showing up more, there were also some slight areas of discoloration, most likely from the sun. I purchased this particular product because of the price, the rebate offered at the time and my familiarity with the Olay line. The only thing it doesn’t have in it is a night cream which I had to purchase separately and don’t ever go without.

I have been using the product for about 4 weeks now and have stopped using the daytime tinted moisuritizer or the proper name is “color recapture”. I just do not like the combination of a lightweight foundation and moisturizer in one. I also don’t like the smell, which I can acutally smell throughout the day. I am particularly sensitive to odors so this just really bothers me. I’ve discovered that personally, I prefer to use a moisturizer by itself and then apply my mineral make-up. This product felt heavy on my skin and it didn’t seem to spread evenly, so then I’d have to use more. The product also seemed like when it dispensed it always had more of the foundation in it than the moisturizer. It also didn’t feel like it gave my skin any moisture which is what I was needing since I was feeling dry in areas. Since I am stuck with the product at this point I may decide to use it on days I don’t want to do a full make-up routine and need to just get some base color on my face. I’m not sure though because of the smell and other issues.

The other products that came in this pack I do continue to use.

I wasn’t sure if I was going to able to continue using the pore redefining facial scrub. I use it once a day, at night to be exact. At first I noticed pimples or bumps coming up on my nose, then after they disappeared within a day I noticed my skin flaking, especially in the t-zone area (between eyes, noses, skin next to nose). I realized that it must be due to the beta hydroxy that’s advertised on the front of the tube and/or in combinations with the salicyic acid that is on the ingedient list. This could possibly be helping my skin “shed”. It was very noticable when I put make-up on, the flakes were really apparent. After about a week of those issues my skin calmed down and all became normal again. It removes my make-up pretty well (not eye-make), the smell is a bit odd, can’t quite describe it, not particularly pleasant though and I can’t wait to wash it off. The positive’s on this product is that at week four my skin tone looks even. I don’t notice my pores having reduced in appearance, as it claims. Any discolorations I may have had seem to be gone, but that may be due to the other 14 day product line from Olay I used. My skin feels smooth but I’m not sure that you just don’t get that with any other scrub you might use daily.

The third product in the pack is the eye illuminator. The consistency is nice, I don’t detect any particular odor, a lot goes a long way with it. But, I don’t really notice any significant difference in the area around my eyes. The instructions say to “pat” it under the eye, outer corners and the eye-lid and gently massage it in. I use it in the morning before make-up and at night before bed.

All in all I’m not blown away by these products. I think once I’m done using the facial scrub and eye cream I will get something else, possibly through Olay. The daily moisturizer may sit on the shelf in my bathroom or I may give it to someone that may want to try it.

If you have sensitive skin and are prone to rosacea or acne this product is NOT for you. I broke out in a horrible rash and had to got seek medical attention. It is a great deal from a great company but is not made for those with skin problems.

Have used expensive brands (Chanel, E Arden & Clinic). Works better than those. Not disappointed. Rebate arrived quickly, too!
